Battle.net World Championships 2012 announced. No Blizzcon until 2013

Well as the specualtion that Blizzard will release three titles this year (a record for the company) continues, it appears that such a triumvirate of releases will leave them without anything to announce.  This morning, Blizzard announced the scheduling of the Battle.net world championships which will be held in Asia for the championships of Starcraft 2 as well as World of Warcraft Arena.  This event is said to take place in "late 2012" right around the same time as a Blizzcon 2012 would be held.  They also make mention of the next Blizzcon being in 2013.  So no big show in the US this year, but with potentially nothing new to announce, I guess quality is better than quantity.  For the full press release, follow after the break.

WoW Patch 4.3 Official Trailer and Patch Notes

Well, after almost a year, we are finally seeing the full promise of the latest Blizzard World of Warcraft expansion: Cataclysm.  Chock full of new content up to and including, Tranmogrification, Void Storage, Darkmoon Faire island, Raid Finder, New Tier sets, new mounts, new pets, new arena gear, new 5-man dungeons, and oh yeah a raid on Deathwing's lair.  Read on after the break for the full patch notes as well as the launch trailer.

Today during the Chargers vs. Bears NFL game, Blizzard Entertainment aired a new ad for their ever popular game World of Warcraft.  This ad was in the usual style feturing a celebrity that plays WoW with an added flare that is unique to said celebrity.  Follow after the break for the full video.

In Case You Didn't Know....(WoW PTR Client)

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, I have a small confession to make. I play World of Warcraft.
Now I know what you are thinking, "It doesnt really matter", or "Wow, you're cool", or my personal favorite, "@#$@# time-wasting moron".
Whatever your preferable insult, I understand.
However I'm here to bring you some news I found out just recently (being the noob that I am) about the PTR client.

The PTR client, (Public Test Relm) is what Blizzard uses to let the public, test their soon to be patches for the game.

This awesome download allows you to not only test the most recent patches, but create a prebuilt character (any level, any type) and play it on that server. The only catch is, you must have a WoW account, and you must have time.
If you think this sort of thing interests you, go on over to Blizzard and download the PTR, and then back on over to Battle.net to create your character!
but hurry, the patch is going live soon, and when it does the PTR will no longer be available....

World of Warcraft: Kung-Fu Panda (Expansion Announcement Recap Continued)

As many of you are well aware this next World of Warcraft expansion is taking a huge leap from the WoW norm you've come to accept. Many of the features they are throwing into the game seem to have come from another video game, or another idea, however, change is your friend. With all these great features, there has to be something worth playing. I for one am excited for Pokemon. I loved the old Pokemon games and Blizzard seems to implementing this pet system into World of Warcraft which holds a striking resemblance to them.

World of Warcraft: Mists Of Pandaria Preview Trailer!

'WoW: Mists of Pandaria' to be "a little different"

Metzen said at the Blizzcon 2011 opening ceremony that this expansion would be a little different.  The past expansions have been predicated "on the big new super villain." This expansion, on the other hand will be based on the all-out Horde vs. Alliance war.  No big baddie to take down, but a war on the scales of Warcraft 2. 

It will take place in a "new land", a land that was in perfect bliss before the Horde and Alliance arrived.  Pandaria, home of the Pandaren Monk, the new hero class.  Also, announced, level cap increased to 90, a pet combat system, challenge mode dungeons, new PVE scenerios, and new talent system.

StarCraft:Universe MMO - Limited Release!

The community Mod add-on for StarCraft II:Wings of Liberty, called StarCraft: Universe is a World of Warcraft based MMO set in the Starcraft universe....And with Blizzcon tomorrow, its open to the public, at least till October 30, 2011.

The game is available on Battle.net to try out, so hurry up and get a test run in before the 30th! More news to follow as Blizzcon kicks off this weekend. Take a look at the games website for more info
